This is an excellent storage solution for large amounts of Legos. It’s well constructed. I bought a 1600 piece Creative Tower set, which fills it about halfway. I would guess this could easily hold 3000 bricks. I admit that opening it is a little awkward at first with the way the grip is designed on the lid and the ridges on the side of the box. However, my 5 and 6 year old sons are not having any trouble getting it open. The circular grooves on the inside of the box are so narrow, they would only trap the tiniest pieces, which you would probably want to store separately from the larger bricks anyway. Even 1×1 bricks are too big to get caught in there (see picture). I will definitely buy more of these as the Lego collection grows.

I am a 57-year old fire engine enthusiast who found a website for building models of real fire engines from Legos. I started with a small model, which came out excellent. Now, I am working on a large model with more detail and measurements to scale. I had a lot of red, white, gray, and black pieces I wanted to keep separate. This storage cube is great. Altogether, I have about 1000+ pieces, with more room still available.

The lid pulls off very easily by either grasping the handles on the sides, or easier by pulling on the knobs on the top of the cube. This stores great in a closet, or, as in my case, in a corner in the office. The size makes it nice for putting the whole big pile of pieces in with minimal dropping of pieces onto the floor. When I am done with the fire engine, the remaining pieces and the other colors I have will go to my step-grandson, who loves Legos.
