The main vehicle here is basically an elaborate Airjitzu Flyer launcher that you can easily hold in one hand and swoosh around, while shooting off the flyer on top. A really well done design. My only concern is that that the airship does have a lot of small parts, and because Airjitzu is mostly an outdoors game there can be a problem of loosing the small pieces. He Ronin R.E.X. is a new Ningajo set that belongs to the 2015 second wave of releases entitled “Shadows of Ronin”, that will be available next August. With five hundred and forty seven pieces, it features an extraordinary airship, a small dragon and four mini-figures: Ronin, Kai, Ghoul Tar and Hackler.

Filled of amazing details and a global shape that remembers somehow Star Wars, the REX is built with several colors where the red prevails above the rest. …A very nice looking set…EXCELLENT building techniques!!…

One of the main reasons for me to buy this set was that I found it available on my country’s “Amazon” website at a decent discount, so I went for it. And also, I liked the minifigures in this set (especially Ronin) so I bought this set. But I was (pleasantly) shocked..when I found that the flying vehicle in this set is quite…impressive!!

This set contains four minifigures, a skreemer, a small buildable dragon and the main attraction, the R.E.X. vehicle.
The box looks quite nice but I didn’t like the Green Ninja in the logo. He’s been used a lot of times in the logo in the past; wish LEGO would have used a new character. Like, Sensei Wu. Even Morro would have been nice. Anyway, hopefully in the future LEGO will use a character in the logo, that hasn’t appeared before.

Starting with the minifigures, Ronin is a fantastic minifigure! Though I had seen this minifigure in pictures and video reviews, now that I have him in front of me, he looks magnificent ..in person! The printing on his torso (front and back) and legs is very good.His face printing is also nice. The contrasting colors on him look very appealing! His left arm is in orange which contrasts nicely with the light green on the rest of his shirt. His red Chinese hat (red is a rare color for the hat) looks cool! And the matching red mask looks nice. I wish the hat had an attached hair piece to it, then it would have looked fabulous. Currently, Ronin looks bald because of no hair piece. He is fully loaded when it comes to weapons. He carries two stud-shooters that shoot gold studs, which is cool. (And you get quite a few extra gold studs which is nice).He even carries two black katanas in a nice sword-holster on his back. I really LOVE this minifigure…it’s become one of my all-time favorites in the Ninjago theme!

Kai looks great in red and black.His cowl piece is nice. The printing on his torso (front and back) and legs are quite good. The only weapon he carries is the Aeroblade, which is a cool weapon/accessory. But it is slightly big for a minifigure; it should have been made a bit smaller. Read More…
