75137 Carbon Freezing Chamber from Empire Strikes Back [Review] – Brothers Brick
We’ve been so focused on LEGO Star Wars sets from The Force Awakens that you’d think we’d forgotten there was an Original Trilogy thirty-odd years ago (I deny the existence of any Prequel Trilogy). For their January 2016 assortment, LEGO hasn’t neglected Episodes IV, V, and VI though. Although still a challenge to find here in North America, LEGO sent us a copy of 75137 Carbon Freezing Chamber from The Empire Strikes Back and I’m pleased to bring you this review.
75137 Carbon Freezing Chamber comes in two numbered bags. There aren’t multiple sections or vehicles in this set, so the cutoff seems to be based primarily on part count to limit the number of bricks for less-experienced builders (i.e. children — you know, LEGO’s target demographic) to work with at any given time. In case it matters, the Ugnaught is in Bag 1, while Boba Fett and Han Solo are in Bag 2.
We assume based on known pricing in Europe that this set will retail for around $30 in the US (Canadian pricing remains a mystery, so I won’t even hazard a guess), with 231 pieces. Assuming that, you’re not getting a huge number of parts for the price. In terms of useful parts, there’s plenty of trans-orange for your next volcano, as well as four of the aforementioned A-shaped wedge plates… Read more here
Review: 75137 Carbon-Freezing Chamber – Brickset
It is well known that Cloud City has been woefully underrepresented in the LEGO Star Wars theme, so the news that 75137 Carbon-Freezing Chamber would be released in January was met with huge excitement. However, that excitement quickly dissipated when the first images of the model were revealed as many were hoping for a far larger set than this which would include numerous characters in their Bespin outfits as well as some brand new minifigures.
Given the piece count of 231 I think £19.99 is a very reasonable price. This is the least expensive set to include Boba Fett since 7144 Slave I from 2000 and I expect many people will be drawn to this set for that fact alone… Read more here

…In you go, Solo!…
With the runaway popularity of The Force Awakens, it’s good to see that Lego hasn’t forgotten the original Star Wars Trilogy, giving us some fantastic new sets to recreate those classic scenes. Case in point, this Carbon Freezing Chamber set, which is one of the most iconic moments from The Empire Strikes Back. This relatively small set includes the chamber, three minifigures – Han Solo, Boba Fett and an Ugnaught – and a Han Solo in Carbonite piece.
Complexity: This is a fairly small set at 231 pieces, but a lot of the pieces are tiny and there are some Technic elements, so even experienced builders are going to need 30-45 minutes to assemble it. It may be a bit too tricky for very young builders.
Playability: This is a really fun set. You can lower Han Solo down one platform and with a tug and twist of a lever raise up the Carbonite frozen Han Solo. Then have Boba Fett haul him off to a waiting Slave I (sold separately, of course).
The mechanism is a little tricky and can get stuck, but with patience it will work. The set is a bit fragile, so if your kid is inclined to carry it around some of the sections may break. The Carbon Freezing Chamber is a fantastic addition to the Lego Star Wars line. It will make you wish for a larger Bespin set (not to mention Lando, Lobot and Leia minifigures), but at this price point (roughly twenty-five bucks), it will do just fine. It makes a great display piece as well as a fun birthday/Christmas gift.

…Star Wars The SWEET LEGO SET strikes back!…
First off this is a great set and set at a great price. $24.99 is perfect for this set, you get 3 Minifigures plus a Han Solo in carbonite. The Han in carbonite alone is worth the price (IT’S SO AWESOME). A lot went into the design of this set, and it has a bunch of features (elevator, rotating bench, also the whole carbonite chamber rotates down and spins).
Its not to small but again its not huge, its perfect for a bookcase or on a shelf. The Boba Fett is really detailed and one of my favorite minifigs (The Boba head has two expressions on it aswell). The Han Solo figure fits in the back of the carbonite for display, and plenty of room on the base of other minifigs. Not much more I can say.
It was a fun build, not too hard. 3 great minifigures plus a excellent base with a lot of features. This must be one of the coolest under $30 Lego sets you can buy. You wont be disappointed with this set.
